We mentioned back then that neutrals would always be popular but that there were signs that people were starting to fall in love with colour again for home decorating. Pantone heralded the change when it announced its Colour of the Year - well, actually two colours - Rose Quartz (a warm rose tone) and Serenity (a cool, tranquil blue). The company described the colours as welcoming, reflecting the desire for balance and harmony and the general mood of calm reflection. Blue has certainly seen a surge in popularity since then and we have seen particularly high demand for deep blues and Scandinavian style grey-blue shades.
Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2017 is Greenery, describing the shade as a “zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.
Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”
It looks like we’re sharing a love of the great outdoors with Pantone this year, so let’s check see how God’s Own Country can inspire you to freshen your foliage this year.
